Today, I'm introducing the FUJIFILM X20 camera!
This camera is positioned as a high-end compact. I'd like to introduce what kind of camera it is, along with some sample photos! FUJIFILM cameras can apply various filters using a function called "Film Simulation." This time, I'll focus on monochrome photography!
First shot. The tones from the shadows to the highlights are very smoothly expressed. The gradation of the sky is also delicately depicted, and it feels great to clearly perceive the nuances that are characteristic of monochrome photos.
Am I the only one who pays more attention to light and shadow than usual when taking monochrome photos? It's highly recommended for a change of pace, as it allows you to take photos from a different perspective, noticing details like spot lighting or the length of shadows that you might not normally notice.
Third shot. The ability to capture even ordinary scenes lyrically is another charm of monochrome photography. Is it fair to say that by deliberately stripping away color information, the artistic quality increases? In this photo, the absence of color allows for a more intuitive perception of light and shadow, creating a dramatic impression.
