This time, I'd like to introduce some sample photos taken with the CANON EOS 5Ds and the EF mount pancake lens EF40mm F2.8.
First, what kind of camera is the 5Ds? It's a high-resolution camera equipped with a 50.6MP full-frame sensor, which is still the highest pixel count among commercially available consumer "DSLRs." The 5Ds has a sister model, the 5DsR, which is a low-pass filter canceller model (for those who seek higher resolution). Since these two models essentially share the same sensor, it's fair to say they are tied for first place in terms of pixel count. Nikon's high-resolution models are the D8XX series, but even the latest model, the D850, has 45.75MP, which falls short in terms of pixel count as a catalog spec. As for Sony, even their mirrorless α7R series has lower pixel counts than the 5Ds, with the exception of the IV and V models. So, while pixel count isn't everything, it's still popular as a truly unique camera.
The lens I chose to pair with this camera is the EF40mm F2.8 STM, one of the few pancake lenses with an EF mount. This lens, designed with compactness as its main focus, might seem ordinary in its specs but is actually quite charming. It resolves well when stopped down, and when shot wide open, it renders a slightly soft image, allowing for an old-lens-like depiction. And despite being able to enjoy both types of rendering, it has a total length of 22.8mm and weighs only 130g, making it feel almost weightless when attached to the camera. 
It can focus quite closely, down to 0.3m, and the background blur isn't too distracting, making it truly versatile. The AF is a bit slow, but it shouldn't be an issue for general shooting. Manual focus is also available, so switching to MF is an option if focus speed is a concern. 
When attaching such a lens to a high-resolution camera, imperfections often become apparent, but this lens, rather than showing flaws, produces a unique and tasteful rendering. A friend of mine who uses it with a GFX via an AF-compatible mount adapter says there's hardly any vignetting. This rendering and its good characteristics might also be related to the ample image circle.
