The IXY DIGITAL 930 IS features a zoom range from a wide-angle 24mm to a telephoto 120mm.That "24mm" is more pleasant than I expected. For example, a cafe table. For example, the hustle and bustle in front of a station. For example, an alley in the evening.
It's the perfect distance to capture a scene even when you want to step back but can't.
2. Vivid city nights
The first shot is of a city at night. Neon lights and crowds, slightly damp asphalt. And a person illuminated by a strobe. The flash on this camera is powerfully effective in a good way, preserving the background light while sharply capturing the foreground subject.
It's somewhat like a snapshot, somewhat like a documentary photo.
2. Sometimes, light is better when it's a bit too strong
A daytime shot. Shadows are well-defined, and highlights are slightly blown out. To be honest, the exposure isn't perfect, but the colors of the red cones and yellow covers are so assertive they create a great accent. The IXY 930 IS seems to push out the light as it is, rather than trying to refine it.
3. Ordinary scenery is faithfully preserved
A corner of a residential area. A white car and a tree with red leaves. Just that kind of scenery. But when I shoot it with this camera, I feel like the atmosphere of that day is somehow preserved. The resolution is not too sharp, and the colors are a bit soft.
4. Shoot the moment you find the light
An intersection in the evening. The shadows of buildings and the low sun. Light streaming through the gaps. The scene that spread before my eyes when I looked up was a beautiful everyday moment worth preserving. Carrying this camera made me want to capture those dramatic everyday moments that pass in an instant.
The "quirks" of light and color can actually be good.
With this camera, if you shoot in auto mode, the ISO tends to increase slightly,resulting in a slightly grainy texture indoors or in the evening. But that's strangely pleasant. Whether it's night, day, or on the way home, ordinary moments become special.
